Every week the staff of Dare Dreamer FM picks five Creative Commons songs that are free to use in your productions. You could do this work yourself, but it takes a lot of time. Since we do it anyway as we look for CC music for Radio Film School, we share our favorite discoveries with you. Enjoy!
Singer-Songwriter Picks
This week I wanted to find some great singer-songwriter tunes.
“Singing in the Rain” (demo) by David Mumford (CC-BY)
I’m a huge fan of David’s work. His is a well I go to frequently when looking for a singer-songwriter melody for the podcast, or something different for client work. You’ll find a lot of his stuff great for weddings and love stories too.
“Twinkle Twinkle” and “Mockingbird” by David Mumford (CC-BY)
Did I mention I like David Mumford. Here are a couple of classics with a special singer-songwriter twist. I recently used “Mockingbird” in a client project about a low-income housing project development. The lyrics were perfect.
“Already There” by Josh Woodward (CC-BY)
Josh is another artist I gravitate to when looking for a good singer-songwriter tune. What I like about Josh is he often has both lyrics and non-lyrics versions of his songs.
“dream gate” by Fog Lake (CC-BY)
I first discovered Fog Lake when looking for romantic tunes for the “Your First Time” episode of Radio Film School. In that episode I used “erik” and “lost love letters.” If you’re looking for that emo millennial, rom-com indie vibe, look no further than Fog Lake. I have no doubt I’ll be dipping into “the Lake” again. (Get it? Dip? Lake? I made a pun. 😉
