Today is Halloween. So as one might expect, our creative commons song picks today are all spooky. Enjoy!
This Week’s Picks
The first three picks are all from the popular creative commons music site Incompetech.com by Kevin MacLeod. He actually has a whole “horror soundscapes” collection. All three of these are CC-BY.
- Toccata and Fugue in D Minor – I have no doubt that as soon as you hear this eerie organ music, you’ll immediately recognize this quintessential spooky classic.
- Metaphysik – this one feels like the opening to an eerie gothic romance. Imagine the credits opening on a dark and dreary estate as the camera glides through the gloomy halls before stopping on a closed bedroom door. What is behind that door? Don’t open it! Don’t open it!
- Echoes of Time – a long, lost intergalactic cruiser is adrift in space, circling what was once thought to be a barren planet. But something, or someone, was down there. It came to the ship. Now everyone is gone. Everyone…except you! Bru-hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!
This track is tailor-made for a Hitchcockian thriller. The only thing missing is the sound of creaky floor boards. CC-BY-SA.
A funky and freaky take on Toccata by Bach. Use this when you want a stylistic spin on the familiar. Public domain.
