I’ve pulled two old podcast filmmaking interviews out of mothballs for your listening enjoyment.
Last week 20th Century Fox uploaded a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of their Oscar-nominated survival and revenge epic “The Revenant.” I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was directed by Eliot Rausch and DP’d by Ryan Booth. Ryan, the filmmaker behind Serial Box Presents, has been on a few episodes of Radio Film School. But I interviewed both Ryan and Eliot a few years ago for my last filmmaker’s podcast, “Crossing the 180” (X180). In celebration of this doc about “The Revenant,” I thought it would be fun to share my old interviews with these filmmakers so you can get an idea of what makes them tick; and perhaps get insight into what lead them to the success they have today.
Eliot Rausch – Apr 2012 (this interview will blow your mind. Easily one of my top ten from the years I hosted X180.)
Ryan Booth – Mar 2011
